What’s next for Digg and it’s founder Kevin Rose

The social bookmarking site began in 2004 and offers a way for users to contribute and share news stories and items of interest with others; the most popular get the most “Diggs”, highlighted on the front page. It now gets 26 million unique visitors a month, with 3 million registered editors (people who submit, share and vote on, ie Digg, stories and links). That’s no mean feat for an idea dreamed up while its founder was showering one morning.

Gigabyte M528 MID

One of the most popular MIDs on UMPCPortal, the Gigabyte M528, looks like it might be one of the first to launch and very reasonably price.

The specifications remain unchanged, 800×480 touchscreen, 3mp auto-focus cam and 4GB SSD on 800Mhz Silverthorne/Poulsbo (Menlow) with integrated GPS and 3G modules all controlled from the Moblin-based software . A full suite of applications includes a browser based on the Firefox 3 engine, Skype, Pidgin IM, OpenOffice 2.4 and many others. The price, Including 3G but excluding any form of data contract is $750 in the Taiwan market.

NXP Semiconductors announced the world’s fastest high-bandwidth cellular soft modem. The PNX6910 is capable of achieving data transfer rates of 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink, and supports multi-mode LTE/HSPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM capability.
