Up to 25 of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa matches will be produced using Sony’s 3D professional cameras, which will provide coverage of the action that is unprecedented in depth, vividness and excitement to people around the world.

New LED tattoos from the University of Pennsylvania could make the Illustrated Man real (minus the creepy stories, of course). Researchers there are developing silicon-and-silk implantable devices which sit under the skin like a tattoo. Already implanted into mice, these tattoos could carry LEDs, turning your skin into a screen.

The silk substrate onto which the chips are mounted eventually dissolves away inside the body, leaving just the electronics behind. The silicon chips are around the length of a small grain of rice — about 1 millimeter, and just 250 nanometers thick. The sheet of silk will keep them in place, molding to the shape of the skin when saline solution is added.

These displays could be hooked up to any kind of electronic device, also inside the body. Medical uses are being explored, from blood-sugar sensors that show their readouts on the skin itself to neurodevices that tie into the body’s nervous system — hooking chips to particular nerves to control a prosthetic hand, for example.

The rumor is that Sony have been in talks with Mozilla lately about possibly porting firefox over to the PS3, but there is no actual deal been reached at this point, it’s great news none the less considering the complaints Sony has been getting about the lack of reliability with their current built in PS3 web browser. Magellan’s new iPhone navigation app and Premium Car Kit will in fact work just fine with the handheld out of the box, unlike TomTom’s similar Car Kit. Otherwise, there aren’t exactly a lot of surprises, but the cradle is fully adjustable to accommodate a range of sleeves or cases, and it’ll of course also charge your iPhone or iPod touch, and give it some amplified sound courtesy of the built-in speaker. According to Techcrunch this isn’t really a launch, but rather a chance to give us a first look at the OS, and for Google to detail their actual launch plans.
The plan is to give some technical background information as well as show off some demos, they will be giving a “complete overview” of the new OS, which they say will launch next year. Read More here and here

G11′s full-metal jacket makes it feel indestructible, while the shape evokes the classic cameras you feel like you’re supposed to be taking photos with. It’s thick, remarkably so, in part because of the flip-out swivel LCD screen. And it’s definitely more along the lines of a rangefinder-style camera than a typical point-and-shoot.
The real magic of G11 lies in the dedicated control dials. ISO speed, and shooting mode. Having these settings at your fingers at all times is so much of why the G11 feels like a camera that’s a step above point-and-shoots, a tool for creating photographs.

Despite a different interface, the Netflix viewing experience will be essentially the same on the Xbox 360 and PS3, according to Steve Swasey, the company’s vice president of corporate communication. However, accessing Netflix from the two consoles will differ. Whereas Netflix is integrated into the Xbox Live dashboard and firmware, accessing the service via the PS3 will require a Blu-ray disc, which contains the required software.

Not available in U.S yet, but it’s going to run €649 in Spain, with additional carriers following after December.
